Nili Portugali is a Practicing architect; senior lecturer; researcher, published author, film director. The film is her third of Creative TRILOGY following the world-known buildings she designed & the published books she wrote. Graduated: A.A School of Architecture London; Post G: Architecture & Buddhism! U.C Berkeley ; Film studies TAU.
She did research work in the ‘Center for Environmental Structure’ Berkeley, with Prof. Chris Alexander.
7th generation descendant of a family living in the holly ‘Kabbala’ city of Tsefat, Israel since the early 19th century.
Her work is connected to the holistic-phenomenological school of thought
Senior lecturer: Bezalel Academy of Art & Design Jerusalem; Technion Institute Faculty of Architecture Haifa,.Guest lecturer: MIT, Harvard, Oxford Un, TU Stuttgart, TU Dresden, TU Delft, Tsinghua China
Among the world-known buildings she designed Blumenthal Music Center & Library.
Exhibitions: Venice & Sao Paolo Architecture Biennale, Barcelona, Linz
Her book: The Act of Creation and The Spirit of A Place/ A Holistic-Phenomenological Approach to Architecture/ Edition Axel Menges/Stuttgart was listed the books of the year by Royal Institute of British Architects
