Black sheep

Pecore nere

As I was building “Pecore Nere” s videoclip, I found myself unwrapping the emotional story of my family, juxtaposing the images that instinct suggested to me with dreamlike connections, never fully narrative. Since it’s an independent / no budget project, I was paradoxically free to shape those images with care. I retraced the places of my childhood in Cetraro and studied the light in various inspections: the church of San Francesco, where my grandparents and my parents got married; the beach where I used to play as a child; the ruins of Cirella Vecchia, the town “ca si mangiarunu i furmichi”; the land of my grandfather. The old man in the video is him, my grandfather, the gnarled and stubborn oak that kept me sheltering every day of my childhood. The first real black sheep that my brother Alessandro, aka Maelstrom, and I, have ever met.
